Head of Customer Success – ORCA UK

We are seeking a Head of Customer Success, responsible for delivering and ensuring the success of ORCA’s products and services to our customers worldwide. You will be utilizing your outstanding project management, technical and client engagement skills to successfully deliver solutions, build strong relationships with customers and monitor their experience with ORCA’s products and services.  Effective communication with our customers is key to meet their needs and long-term goals, optimizing customer retention and building an industry leading reputation.

In this role, you will manage the delivery lifecycle inclusive of the company’s supply chain, solution delivery and project management functions.  You will lead a cross-functional team of project managers, engineers, and other technical and business personnel to efficiently deliver high-quality quantum computing solutions to our global clients. Your strategic mindset, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills will be vital in driving our growth and success in the rapidly-evolving quantum computing industry.  This position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and is based in London, UK.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and execute delivery strategies and project management methodologies to ensure the successful deployment of our quantum computing solutions and completion of funded projects, including collaborating with the executive team to create and implement effective strategies that align with the company’s goals and growth objectives.
  • Manage client relationships from pre- to post-delivery in collaboration with Sales and the Commercial team including developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Responsible for all Service Level Management activities including regular Service Delivery reviews to assess the performance of delivered services in comparison to the agreed service levels, and to agree upon remedial or preventative actions.
  • Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Develop and manage funded projects, including budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including the hardware team and the commercial team to effectively deliver solutions to customers and projects to funding agencies.
  • Manage the company’s supply chain through vendor identification and onboarding, supplier management and optimization, alternative source analysis, cost optimization and effective and data-driven build versus buy analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and methodologies by staying current with industry trends and best practices.

What you will be bringing to the team:

  • Knowledge, proficiency, and proven track record of successful customer computing systems delivery, with experience in managing budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Experience managing client relationships and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Proven experience managing teams, with a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop talent.
  • Understanding of quantum computing concepts with the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as industry trends and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, financial management, and performance monitoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, partners, and customers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a results-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar and project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or PMI.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to address day-to-day “urgent” tasks in a timely fashion while maintaining focus on longer-term projects.
  • Willingness to “roll up the sleeves” and get necessary tasks completed.

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of industry experience in high performance computing is highly desirable.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in quantum computing is highly desirable
