ORCA PT-1

Accelerating Your Quantum Readiness

The PT-1 is the starting point of our roadmap. There is no need for users to sacrifice immediate needs waiting for technologies to arrive. Rack-mounted, room temperature and built with optical fibre components, the PT-1 provides access to quantum computing capabilities now.

The installation of two on-premises quantum computers from ORCA Computing is a milestone moment for Montana State University.

Prof. Yves Idzerda, Dean of College of Letters and Science, MSU

Having hands-on access to photonic quantum computing technologies empowers us to advance our quantum efforts more rapidly, streamline the development and characterisation of sophisticated quantum systems, and accelerate their real-world deployment.

Prof. Krishna Rupavatharam, Director of Spectrum Lab, MSU

Harnessing the advanced technology of ORCA Computing and the robust capabilities of NVIDIA’s GPUs, we developed a hybrid quantum-classical infrastructure that demonstrates quantum-enhanced applications on the PT Series. We are excited about ORCA’s roadmap as we leverage two ORCA PT-1 systems to advance reach in areas including biological imaging.

ORCA Computing to Supply Two Quantum Photonic Systems to Montana State University (MSU)

In June 2024, ORCA Computing was chosen by Montana State University (MSU) to supply two PT-1 quantum photonics systems, to be installed at the MSU Innovation Campus in the INDUSTRY Bozeman building.  Renowned for its expertise and robust infrastructure, MSU is setting the stage for significant progress in quantum technologies. This collaboration marks a milestone for MSU, giving hands-on access to photonic quantum computing to advance quantum research, streamline system development, and accelerate real-world deployment. These systems are on track to be delivered and installed before the end of 2024.

ORCA Computing Delivered Two Quantum Photonic Systems to Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC)

In 2023, ORCA delivered two PT-1 systems to the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC), an internationally renowned research and development supercomputing centre. PSNC deployed these systems within their existing HPC environment together with the advanced classical computing clusters. This integration is advancing critical scientific research and industrial innovation while realising their vision of distributed quantum-classical computing. As a result of these deployments, a significant collaboration began earlier this year between PSNC, ORCA Computing, and NVIDIA. Together, we are accelerating the development of hybrid quantum-classical approaches, enabling multiple users to utilise multiple GPUs and QPUs in their application development workflow.
