ORCA Computing Recognized as a Leading Innovator by Bloomberg UK’s 2024 Startups to Watch

ORCA Computing announced its recognition by Bloomberg UK as a 2024 Startup to Watch. Bloomberg UK’s Startups to Watch canvassed the UK to find 25 startups that represent the diversity and innovation of the country’s startup scene.

Bloomberg looked for the most innovative, new UK businesses to highlight in the list. Their goal was to learn about companies that are growing fast, working on something truly unique and come from a diverse group of founders from all over the UK. Bloomberg editors considered a number of criteria when assessing the entries including: the scope of the problem being tackled, creativity of ideas, traction with investors and customers, and commitment to diversity.

Headquartered in London, UK, with offices in the United States and Canada, ORCA Computing is a pioneering developer of full-stack photonic quantum computing systems. ORCA’s PT Series is engineered to integrate into the workloads and facilities of existing high-performance computing (HPC) and data center environments. Organizations across industries—such as manufacturing, energy, and pharmaceuticals—have benefitted from quantum enhanced generative AI and optimisation approaches that are uniquely suited to ORCA’s Computing’s cutting-edge photonic technology. At the forefront of the global race to deliver powerful, scalable quantum computers, the company is tackling computational challenges that are pushing the boundaries of classical computing.

“We are honored to be recognized by Bloomberg UK’s editorial team as one of the most innovative new businesses in the country,” said Richard Murray, Co-founder and CEO of ORCA Computing. “By focusing on some of the most pressing challenges in technology, we are driving innovations that not only meet today’s demands but also pave the way for future breakthroughs. Being named a ‘2024 Startup to Watch’ by Bloomberg UK validates both our vision and the impact of our work.”
